Raidighi is a General category Assembly constituency located in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district. It is one of the seven Assembly segments that fall under the Mathurapur (SC) Lok Sabha constituency.
At present, Aloke Jaldata of the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) is the sitting MLA from Raidighi. He won the seat in the 2021 Assembly election by securing 48.47 per cent of the total votes polled. He was followed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate, who received 33.58 per cent of the votes.
Earlier, the constituency was represented by Debasree Roy of AITC, who won the seat in both the 2016 and 2011 Assembly elections.
The election history shows that Raidighi has remained under AITC’s control for multiple consecutive elections, reflecting continued voter support for the party in the constituency.
