Deganga is an assembly seat in North 24 Parganas district, West Bengal (No. 120). It forms part of the Barasat Lok Sabha constituency and covers Deganga community development block areas. Rahima Mondal of All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) is the current MLA, elected in 2021 after holding the seat previously. AITC maintains strong dominance here. In the 2021 election, Rahima Mondal of All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) won with 100,105 votes (47per cent share), defeating RSMP's Karim Ali (67,568 votes, 32per cent) by 32,537 votes. BJP's Dipika Chatterjee received 38,446 votes (18per cent), AIFB 2,942 votes (1per cent), with NOTA and others under 1per cent each. Turnout was approximately 85per cent. AITC continued its hold from 2016.
