Rejinagar is one of the 294 Assembly constituencies in West Bengal, located in Murshidabad district and forming part of the Baharampur Lok Sabha seat. A general category constituency, it has shown continuity in leadership alongside shifts in party affiliation in recent elections.
In the 2021 Assembly elections, Rejinagar had 259,771 registered electors, of whom 210,445 cast valid votes. The seat was won by Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate Rabiul Alam Chowdhury, who secured 118,494 votes. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Arabinda Biswas finished second with 50,226 votes, trailing by a margin of 68,268 votes.
In the 2016 Assembly elections, the constituency had an electorate of 224,848, with 184,993 valid votes recorded, reflecting a turnout of 82.34 per cent. Indian National Congress candidate Rabiul Alam Chowdhury won the seat with 79,770 votes. Independent candidate Humayun Kabir came second with 74,210 votes, losing by a narrow margin of 5,560 votes.
