Harirampur is one of the 294 Assembly constituencies in West Bengal, located in Dakshin Dinajpur district and forming part of the Balurghat Lok Sabha seat. A general category constituency, it has witnessed closely fought elections in recent years, reflecting shifting political dynamics in the region.
In the 2021 Assembly elections, Harirampur had 228,189 registered electors, of whom 187,642 cast valid votes. The seat was won by Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate Biplab Mitra, who secured 96,131 votes. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Nilanjan Roy finished second with 73,459 votes, with a margin of 22,672 votes.
In the 2016 Assembly elections, the constituency had an electorate of 196,518, with 166,816 valid votes recorded, reflecting a turnout of 84.93 per cent. Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate Rafikul Islam won the seat with 71,447 votes. Biplab Mitra, then contesting on a TMC ticket, came second with 66,943 votes, losing by a margin of 4,504 votes.
