Baruipur Paschim is a General category Assembly constituency located in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district. It is one of the seven Assembly segments that fall under the Jadavpur Lok Sabha constituency.
At present, Biman Banerjee of the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) is the sitting MLA from Baruipur Paschim. He won the seat in the 2021 Assembly election by securing 57.27 per cent of the total votes polled. He was followed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate, who received 27.97 per cent of the votes.
Biman Banerjee has represented the constituency for multiple consecutive terms, having also won the seat in the 2016 and 2011 Assembly elections as an AITC candidate.
The election history shows that Baruipur Paschim has remained under AITC’s control for several consecutive elections, reflecting strong and consistent voter support for the party in the constituency.
