Raghunathganj is one of the 294 Assembly constituencies in West Bengal, located in Murshidabad district and forming part of the Jangipur Lok Sabha seat. A general category constituency, it has seen shifts in party affiliation while maintaining some continuity in leadership in recent elections.
In the 2021 Assembly elections, Raghunathganj had 249,559 registered electors, of whom 190,478 cast valid votes. The seat was won by Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate Akhruzzaman, who secured 126,834 votes. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Golam Modaswer finished second with 28,521 votes, trailing by a margin of 98,313 votes.
In the 2016 Assembly elections, the constituency had an electorate of 207,987, with 166,082 valid votes recorded, reflecting a turnout of 79.88 per cent. Indian National Congress candidate Akhruzzaman won the seat with 78,497 votes. TMC candidate Abul Kasem Molla came second with 54,711 votes, losing by a margin of 23,786 votes.
