Kalyani is a Scheduled Caste-reserved Assembly constituency in Nadia district of West Bengal and is part of the Bangaon Lok Sabha constituency. It is one of the seven Assembly segments that make up the parliamentary seat.
In the 2021 Assembly elections, the Kalyani constituency had a total of 2,57,683 electors, with 2,20,338 valid votes cast. Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Ambika Roy won the seat with 97,026 votes. All India Trinamool Congress candidate Aniruddha Biswas finished second with 94,820 votes, losing by a margin of 2,206 votes.
In the 2016 elections, the constituency had 2,32,145 electors and 1,89,788 valid votes were recorded. Trinamool Congress candidate Ramendra Nath Biswas won the seat with 95,795 votes. Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate Alakesh Das came second with 69,700 votes, losing by 26,095 votes.
In the 2011 elections, Kalyani had 1,98,769 electors, with 1,79,108 valid votes cast. Trinamool Congress candidate Ramendra Nath Biswas won with 92,322 votes. Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate Jyotsna Sarkar (Sikder) secured 76,632 votes and lost by a margin of 15,690 votes.
