Khargram (SC) is one of the 294 Assembly constituencies in West Bengal, located in Murshidabad district and forming part of the Jangipur Lok Sabha seat. Reserved for Scheduled Caste candidates, the constituency has shown continuity in leadership alongside shifts in party affiliation over recent elections.
In the 2021 Assembly elections, Khargram had 228,923 registered electors, of whom 185,936 cast valid votes. The seat was won by Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate Ashis Marjit, who secured 93,255 votes. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Aditya Moulik finished second with 60,682 votes, trailing by a margin of 32,573 votes.
In the 2016 Assembly elections, the constituency had an electorate of 204,103, with 161,860 valid votes recorded, reflecting a turnout of 79.36 per cent. Indian National Congress candidate Ashis Marjit won the seat with 88,913 votes. TMC candidate Madhab Chandra Marjit came second with 55,740 votes, losing by a margin of 33,173 votes.
