Mandirbazar (SC) is a Scheduled Caste Assembly constituency located in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district. It is one of the seven Assembly segments that fall under the Mathurapur (SC) Lok Sabha constituency.
At present, Joydeb Halder of the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) is the sitting MLA from Mandirbazar. He won the seat in the 2021 Assembly election by securing 48.04 per cent of the total votes polled. He was followed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate, who received 36.27 per cent of the votes.
Joydeb Halder has represented the constituency for multiple consecutive terms. He also won the seat in the 2016 and 2011 Assembly elections as an AITC candidate.
The election history shows that Mandirbazar (SC) has remained under AITC’s control for several consecutive elections, reflecting consistent voter support for the party in the constituency.
