Gazole (SC) is one of the 294 Assembly constituencies in West Bengal, located in Malda district and forming part of the Maldaha Uttar Lok Sabha seat. Reserved for Scheduled Caste candidates, the constituency has witnessed closely contested elections, with different parties making gains over time.
In the 2021 Assembly elections, Gazole had 267,096 registered electors, of whom 221,214 cast valid votes. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Chinmoy Deb Barman won the seat with 100,655 votes. Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate Basanti Barman finished a close second with 98,857 votes, losing by a narrow margin of 1,798 votes.
In the 2016 Assembly elections, the constituency had an electorate of 233,833, with 198,327 valid votes recorded, reflecting a turnout of 84.87 per cent. Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate Dipali Biswas won the seat with 85,949 votes. TMC candidate Sushil Chandra Roy came second with 65,347 votes, trailing by 20,602 votes.
