Howrah Uttar is an assembly seat in Howrah district, West Bengal (No. 170). It forms part of the Howrah Lok Sabha constituency and covers urban wards of Howrah Municipal Corporation. The constituency is fully urban with around 224,870 registered electors across numerous polling stations. It features high residential density near Kolkata, SC population at 3.99per cent, ST at 0.16per cent, and voter turnout of 68.53per cent in 2021. In the 2021 election, AITC candidate Goutam Chowdhury won with 71,575 votes, securing 48per cent vote share and defeating BJP's Umesh Rai who received 66,053 votes (44per cent share) by a margin of 5,522 votes. CPI(M)'s Pawan Kumar Singh obtained 8,133 votes (5per cent share), while NOTA and others accounted for the remaining 3per cent.
