Cossipore Belgachhia also known as Kashipur Belgachhia Assembly constituency is a Legislative Assembly seat in Kolkata district, West Bengal. Established in 1951, it is one of the 294 assembly constituencies in the state. It is a general category, fully urban seat situated in Kolkata Corporation district in Kolkata North and forms part of No. 24 Kolkata Uttar Lok Sabha constituency. It is one of the seven assembly segments under the Kolkata Uttar parliamentary seat. In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Atin Ghosh of the All India Trinamool Congress AITC won the seat with 76,182 votes, defeating Sibaji Sinha Roy of the Bharatiya Janata Party BJP by a margin of 35,390 votes. In the 2016 Assembly elections, Mala Saha of the AITC secured 72,264 votes, defeating Kaninika Bose Ghosh of the Communist Party of India Marxist CPM by 25,810 votes. As per the 2019 Parliament election data, the constituency had a total of 2,17,814 voters and 285 polling booths. Voter turnout was 65.15 percent in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and 64.85 percent in the 2016 Assembly elections. Atin Ghosh, the current MLA, has been representing Kashipur Belgachhia since May 6, 2021. A senior Trinamool Congress leader, he has been serving as the Deputy Mayor of Kolkata Municipal Corporation since 2018.
