Rashbehari Assembly constituency is a Legislative Assembly seat in Kolkata district, West Bengal. It is part of No. 23 Kolkata Dakshin Lok Sabha constituency and one of the seven assembly segments under the parliamentary seat. The constituency is a general category seat and falls entirely within Kolkata Corporation district. Rashbehari is one of the 294 assembly constituencies in West Bengal and has an entirely urban electorate. As per the 2011 Census, the constituency had approximately 6,351 Scheduled Caste voters (around 3.19per cent) and 358 Scheduled Tribe voters (around 0.18per cent). Rural voters are negligible, while urban voters number around 199,083. The total number of voters as per the 2019 parliamentary election was 199,083, with 270 polling booths. Voter turnout was 68.06per cent in 2019 and 67.12per cent in the 2016 assembly election. In the 2021 Vidhan Sabha elections, Debasish Kumar of the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) won Rashbehari with 65,704 votes, defeating Lt. Gen. (Dr.) Subrata Saha of the BJP by a margin of 21,414 votes. Debasish Kumar currently serves as the Deputy Chief Government Whip in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly. In 2016, Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay of AITC won the seat with 60,857 votes, defeating Ashutosh Chatterjee of the Indian National Congress by 14,553 votes. Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay had also won the seat in the 2011 assembly elections.
