Bijpur (No. 103) is an active general category assembly constituency in North 24 Parganas district, West Bengal, falling under Barrackpore Lok Sabha constituency. In the 2021 West Bengal Legislative assembly election, AITC's Subodh Adhikary won with 66,625 votes (48per cent vote share), defeating BJP's Shubrangshu Roy (53,278 votes, 38per cent) by a margin of 13,347 votes. CPI(M)'s Sukanta Rakshit received 14,490 votes (10per cent). The CPI(M) dominated Bijpur from 1977 to 2006, with Jagadish Chandra Das securing multiple terms, including 102,249 votes in 2001. The AITC took control post-2011, as Subhranshu Roy won in 2011 with 65,479 votes and in 2016 with 76,842 votes. Subodh Adhikary of AITC serves as the sitting MLA. The seat continues as an AITC stronghold despite BJP challenges, and preparations for the 2026 election are underway.
