Beldanga is one of the 294 Assembly constituencies in West Bengal, located in Murshidabad district and forming part of the Baharampur Lok Sabha seat. A general category constituency, it has seen shifts in political representation over recent elections, reflecting changing voter alignments in the region.
In the 2021 Assembly elections, Beldanga had 252,944 registered electors, of whom 204,511 cast valid votes. The seat was won by Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate Hasanuzzaman Sk, who secured 112,862 votes. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Sumit Ghosh finished second with 59,030 votes, trailing by a margin of 53,832 votes.
In the 2016 Assembly elections, the constituency had an electorate of 219,501, with 176,050 valid votes recorded, reflecting a turnout of 80.28 per cent. Indian National Congress candidate Seikh Safiujjaman won the seat with 87,017 votes. TMC candidate Golam Kibria Mia came second with 56,736 votes, losing by a margin of 30,281 votes.
