Madhyamgram is an assembly seat in North 24 Parganas district, West Bengal (No. 118). It is part of the Barasat Lok Sabha constituency and covers Madhyamgram municipality plus several gram panchayats in Barasat I and II blocks. This mixed urban-rural seat (65.9per cent urban per 2011 census) has around 272,397 electors and 375 polling stations, with SC at 12.01per cent and ST at 2.18per cent. Turnout was 84.66per cent in 2021 West Bengal legislative assembly elections. Rathin Ghosh (AITC) won with 55.1per cent vote share, defeating BJP's Tapas Majumder (30.4per cent) by 49,206 votes; ISF got 21per cent and CPI(M) trailed lower. AITC hold reflects strong regional dominance.
