Udma, in Kerala’s Kasaragod district, forms part of the Kasaragod Lok Sabha seat. It is known for its coastal geography, multilingual electorate, and agricultural communities. The constituency has no reservation and had approximately 2.1 lakh registered voters in 2021. In the 2021 assembly polls, C. H. Kunhambu of the CPI(M)-led LDF won the seat, defeating UDF candidate M. A. Suhail by a narrow margin of around 2,300 votes. The constituency has historically witnessed tight contests between LDF and UDF, with BJP emerging as a third player in recent elections.
