Attingal Assembly Election Results 2026
Attingal (SC) Assembly constituency is an SC-reserved seat in Thiruvananthapuram district, Kerala, encompassing Attingal town and rural panchayats like Anjengo, Chirayinkeezhu, and Kattakada areas with rubber plantations and coastal communities shaping its politics. The current MLA is O.S. Ambika from CPI(M), elected in 2021 with 69,898 votes (47.7per cent), defeating BJP's Adv. P. Sudheer (38,262 votes, 26.1per cent) by a margin of 31,636 votes (21.6per cent), while RCP's Adv. A. Sreedharan got 36,938 votes (25.2per cent). Key issues include coastal erosion and flooding from Vamanapuram River damaging crops; poor rural road connectivity hindering farm exports; youth unemployment despite Gulf remittances; erratic water supply and sanitation gaps; overburdened PHCs; illegal sand mining polluting rivers; monsoon power outages; rising land prices squeezing small farmers; traffic near markets; and inadequate public transport challenging this LDF stronghold's rural economy.
