Kerala Assembly Elections Constituency Map

The 2026 Kerala legislative assembly elections will be held in a single phase on April 9, the Election Commission announced on Sunday. Counting of votes is scheduled for May 4. The Model Code of Conduct comes into effect immediately, marking the start of the election process for the 140-member Kerala Niyamasabha. The current assembly’s term ends on May 23, 2026.

Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, speaking at a press conference in New Delhi, said, “Voting will be held across 2.19 lakh polling stations in four states and one Union Territory, with 25 lakh election officials on duty.” He added that approximately 2.7 crore voters are expected to participate in Kerala’s elections.

The last date to file nominations is March 23, with scrutiny scheduled for March 24 and the final date for withdrawal of candidatures on March 26.

Following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll, the final voter list for Kerala was released on February 21. Using January 1 as the qualifying date, the list records 2,69,53,644 registered voters, including 1,31,26,048 male voters, 1,38,27,319 female voters, and 227 third-gender voters. Among them, 4,24,518 voters are aged 18–19.
