2 drown in Satluj while crossing over to Pak in Ferozepur
Ferozepur: Two youths drowned while crossing over to Pakistan via the Satluj in the border village of Habib Wala in Ferozepur district.According to the police, a person had allegedly lured the youths into the river to send them to Pakistan. The Sadar Ferozepur police have registered a case against a person under Section 105 of the BNS. The deceased have been identified as 20-year-old Mukhtiar Singh and 35-year-old Manpreet Singh alias Mannu, both residents of Habib Wala. Accroding to sources, man identified as Ganga Singh had incited the deceased to go to Pakistan and made them go through the river. Assistant sub-inspector Gurnam Singh, investigating officer from Ferozepur Sadar police station, said he was told by an informant that Ganga Singh, a resident of Habib Wala, had lured two youths of his village to cross over to Pakistan on the intervening night of May 2 and 3. The IO said both of them drowned in the deep river. He said the police registered a case against accused Ganga Singh, who was absconding.
