Examination details and pass criteria
The Higher Secondary examinations in West Bengal were held from February 12 to February 27, 2026. Approximately 7.1 lakh candidates appeared for the examinations this year, including more than 6.35 lakh students from 6,837 schools across 23 districts.

Students must obtain at least 30 per cent marks in every subject to qualify. The board has stated that candidates are also required to secure a minimum of 30 per cent marks separately in theory and practical or project components.

According to the merit list released by the board, 64 students — including 56 boys and 8 girls — secured positions in the top 10 ranks. Four candidates from Kolkata featured in the top 10 this year.
