Mamata Banerjee Tells Leaders Free To Leave TMC, Vows To Rebuild Party After Bengal Poll Rout

Former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has reportedly told Trinamool Congress leaders unhappy with the party to “leave if they want,” while calling on loyalists to rebuild the organisation after the BJP’s sweeping victory in the 2026 Bengal Assembly elections.At a meeting with TMC candidates in Kolkata, Banerjee struck a defiant tone, saying the party would rise again despite its dramatic collapse from 215 seats to just 80. She also reiterated allegations that the people’s mandate had been “looted.”
