Army Orders Inquiry After Cheetah Helicopter Carrying Senior Officers Crashes Near Leh | Watch

Three Army officers, including the General Officer Commanding of the Trishul Division, survived after a Cheetah helicopter crashed near Tangtse in Ladakh. The helicopter, piloted by a lieutenant colonel and major, went down during operations in high altitude conditions. All occupants suffered minor injuries. The Army has ordered a Court of Inquiry into the crash. Experts highlighted challenges of flying in Ladakh’s thin air. The incident also renewed focus on replacing ageing Cheetah helicopters with HAL’s modern Light Utility Helicopters.
