'Unacceptable': India Slams Attack On Indian-Flagged Ship Near Oman

The Ministry of External Affairs condemned the attack on an Indian-flagged ship off the coast of Oman, calling the incident “unacceptable” and raising concern over repeated attacks on commercial shipping in the region. The ministry confirmed that all Indian crew members on board were safe and thanked Omani authorities for rescuing them. India reiterated its opposition to targeting merchant vessels and civilian sailors, stressing that freedom of navigation and global maritime commerce must not be disrupted. The incident comes amid rising tensions in West Asia and continued security concerns around the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important energy shipping routes. Despite the tensions, several India-bound LPG tankers reportedly continued crossing the strategic waterway over the past 24 hours.
