Ranchi Police Seize 45 Bottles of Abused Cough Syrup, Two Arrested

Ranchi: Police have seized 45 bottles of cough syrup, an addictive and often abused chemical, during an operation carried out near Bodia under the Kanke police station limits on Friday evening.The accused persons are identified as Binod Gopa and Nayan Sen. The police said that as part of the drive against the criminals and illegal drugs, a team was carrying out a checking drive when the accused persons, coming on separate scootys, turned and tried to flee.The accused persons were, however, nabbed and interrogated. The accused have confessed to the police that they used to sell the cough syrup bottles at high prices in Bodia, Edalhatu and Chirundi areas of Ranchi district.
