When Rekha got emotional and hugged Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda at an event
Back in December 2024, a heartwarming moment from the Raj Kapoor centenary celebrations captured everyone’s attention. Veteran actress Rekha was seen sharing an emotional exchange with Agastya Nanda, grandson of legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan. The video from the event soon went viral and has resurfaced again ahead of the release of Agastya's film 'Ikkis'.

The video shows Rekha warmly hugging Agastya during the centenary celebrations held in Mumbai to honour legendary filmmaker and actor Raj Kapoor. Before meeting Agastya, Rekha was seen near Raj Kapoor’s poster, looking at it with deep affection.

The event itself was a grand gathering organised by the Kapoor family, often called the first dynasty of Hindi cinema. Several prominent film personalities attended the celebration, including Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Neetu Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Karisma Kapoor.

About ‘Ikkis’

Agastya Nanda will be seen in ‘Ikkis’, a war drama inspired by the true story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetrapal, India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee. ‘Ikkis’ tells the story of Khetrapal, who was martyred at just 21. The film also stars Dharmendra, marking his final film appearance, and Jaideep Ahlawat in a key role.

Release date of 'Ikkis' was changed

The film was originally scheduled to release on December 25, following Vijay Diwas. However, the makers decided to postpone it. With ‘Dhurandhar’ continuing its strong run and registering the best second weekend ever for a Hindi film, along with the Christmas releases of ‘Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’ and ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’, the team chose a safer window. ‘Ikkis’ will hit the big-screen on January 1, 2026.
