Ranchi: The director of National Health Mission, Jharkhand, Shashi Prakash Jha, flagged off two publicity vehicles on Friday to spread awareness on mental health programmes. Both the vehicles were dispatched from the Namkum office of National Health Mission.The vehicles will be mainly used to spread awareness about the mental health programme to common people in districts and villages, Jha said adding that both the vehicles will be used by the institutes related to mental health.

“At times it becomes very difficult for families to bring the mental patients to the institute by public transport from the rural parts of Ranchi district and also from other districts. These vehicles will now be used to transport such people,” Jha added.The vehicles carry different messages related to mental health and a toll free number for the convenience of people. In addition, the vehicles can also be used for counselling purposes and for holding camps across the state.The publicity vehicles will tour villages continuously for 90 days, an official statement said.
