Apple discontinued more than 20 products in 2025, per a MacRumours report. Most of these products were replaced by newer and faster models, others were simply discontinued because they had been outdated for a long time. For example, 2024's flagship iPhone 16 Pro Max has been discontinued to be replaced with this year’s iPhone 17 Pro Max. Similarly, Apple AirPods Pro 2 have been replaced by Apple AirPods Pro 3. This year, Apple also phased out the Plus lineup, discontinuing both iPhone 14 Plus and iPhone 15 Plus. The affordable iPhone SE (3rd generation) has also been discontinued, only to be replaced by iPhone 16e. With this, Apple no longer sells any iPhone models with a Home button, Touch ID, LCD screen, a sub-6-inch screen size, or Lightning.
The Cupertino-based company also replaced its MagSafe Charger with Qi 2 with the all-new MagSafe Charger with Qi 2.2 support. The 30W USB-C Power Adapter, on the other hand, has been succeeded by 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max. Additionally, Apple has updated its 14-inch MacBook Pro with M4 chip to M5 chip. Similarly, the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models with M3 chip have been upgraded to M4 chip models.
