Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin praises Elon Musk’s Grok, calls it the ‘biggest thing after …’
Vitalik Buterin, the cryptocurrency billionaire who co-founded Ethereum recently shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) praising Elon Musk’s Grok integration into the platform. Calling it “probably the biggest thing after community notes”, Buterin said that the AI bot is major boost for the "truthfulness" of the microblogging platform that Musk acquired in 2022. “The easy ability to call @grok on twitter is probably the biggest thing after community notes that has been positive for the truth-friendliness of this platform,” Buterin writes in an X post.He further shared his observations about the AI bot, stating that “The fact that you don't see ahead of time how grok will respond is key here”. “I've seen many situations where someone calls on grok expecting their crazy political belief to be confirmed and grok comes along and rugs them,” he continues. When a user asked Vitalik Buterin about how much he is worried about the RLHF (reinforcement learning from human feedback) to Elon Musk statements, the Russian founder replied “Definitely worrying.”He further warned that Grok’s training on human feedback could make it biased towards Musk’s views.
“Though there's a good case that it's a net improvement to twitter compared to the other third-party slop that we see, even under assumptions that are very negative about Elon - something something stationary bandit theory,” he writes.

When Vitalik Buterin criticized Elon Musk

Earlier this month, Vitalik Buterin shared an X post stating that the platform is straying from its intended purpose of free speech. Tagging Musk in the post then, he wrote “I think you should consider that making X a global totem pole for Free Speech, and then turning it into a death star laser for coordinated hate sessions, is actually harmful for the cause of free speech. I'm seriously worried that huge backlashes against values I hold dear are coming in a few years' time.
