US President Donald Trump announced that the US military conducted airstrikes on the Islamic State targets in Nigeria. In a Truth Social post, Trump said the ISIS was carrying out targeted killings of innocent Christians. The military strike took place days after American forces struck ISIS targets in Syria. In October, the US President had warned that Christianity faced an "existential threat" in Nigeria and threatened to militarily intervene in the West African country over what he says is its failure to stop violence targeting Christian communities.
