JD(U) aims to add 1 crore members in state by 2026
Patna: JD(U) national general secretary and rural works minister Ashok Choudhary on Friday held a meeting with party functionaries to give momentum to the membership drive.Addressing the workers, Choudhary said the party’s national president and CM Nitish Kumar launched the JD(U) membership drive on Dec 6 during a function at the party headquarters here.“This membership drive initiated by the national president is a historic step toward strengthening the organisation. All party members will work together to take this campaign forward and make the JD(U) family even stronger in line with the vision of our honourable leader,” Choudhary told the workers.“Detailed discussions were held with senior leaders and workers on making the membership campaign comprehensive and successful,” Choudhary told TOI on Friday. He added, “A concrete action plan has been prepared to achieve the target of 1 crore members.”Active workers were informed at the meeting that the JD(U) has set an ambitious target of adding 1 crore members by 2026. “We resolve to launch an intensive and well-planned campaign up to the booth level to expedite the membership drive,” said the party’s state general secretary Ranjeet Kumar Jha.JD(U) state president Umesh Singh Kushwaha reviewed the ongoing membership drive at a meeting in Khagaria district on Wednesday.
Kushwaha urged party officials and workers to enrol the maximum number of people.“The party has set a target of enrolling 1 crore members. This target must be achieved by putting in full effort within the stipulated time. For this, every worker has to play an active role. The maximum number of people should be connected with the party through public outreach campaigns,” Kushwaha told the workers.
