India has formally taken up with the United States the issue of widespread cancellations and delays in H-1B visa interview appointments affecting Indian applicants. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said it has received numerous representations from nationals facing prolonged uncertainty due to repeated rescheduling. These delays have left several individuals stranded, disrupting families and impacting children’s education. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that while visa matters fall under the sovereign domain of nations, India has conveyed its concerns to the US authorities both in New Delhi and Washington DC. The government, he said, remains in active dialogue with the US to minimise hardship for Indian nationals.
