Ramu was shot in the waist, while the bullet grazed Abhishek's stomach and exited. Three police teams were formed to arrest the accused. DCP Gomti Zone inspected the crime scene.
According to reports,
Sameer Singh was returning home after getting fodder cutting machine equipment repaired. At 6 PM, near the garden on the roadside, Ramu Yadav, a resident of Indarpur village, and his friend Abhishek Yadav, along with three other youths, were standing and talking. Just then, two youths arrived on a bike and started arguing with Ramu. Sameer also got involved in trying to resolve the dispute. Meanwhile, the youth sitting behind on the bike took out a weapon and started firing. In the four rounds of firing, Sameer fell to the ground after being shot in the chest. People nearby were terrified upon hearing the gunshots. Some villagers tried to surround both bike-borne attackers, but they fled, waving the weapon in the air.
Villagers informed the police and admitted the injured to a nearby private hospital. Sameer was taken to a private hospital in Shivpur, from where doctors referred him to BHU's trauma centre, where doctors declared Sameer dead. Ramu Yadav and Abhishek were admitted in an unconscious state.
According to locals, the miscreants were trying to snatch Ramu's bike. Abhishek was sitting on Ramu's bike. When they protested, the miscreants started firing. Sameer reached near the attackers while trying to mediate and resolve the dispute. Two other villagers were also at some distance. There was no kind of enmity; the dispute happened suddenly. Sameer, a class 10 student, was the only child of his parents. His father, Banarsi, works as a security guard besides doing agricultural work.
DCP Gomti Akash Patel said that a detailed investigation into the reasons for the incident is being conducted. Three police teams have been formed, and CCTV footage is being examined. Some suspects are also being questioned.
