The iconic sci-fi series Stranger Things is finally nearing its end after almost nine years. The journey that began in Hawkins with missing kids, secret labs, and the Upside Down is now just one episode away from its conclusion. Earlier today, Volume 2 of Season 5 began streaming in India, leaving fans emotional and anxious in equal measure.


Volume 3 release date and time

It has been confirmed that Season 5 is being released in three parts. Volume 1, featuring the first four episodes, arrived on November 26. Volume 2, which includes episodes five, six, and seven, dropped on December 26 in India. Now, attention turns to Volume 3, which consists of a single episode.The final chapter is scheduled to premiere at 8 PM ET on Wednesday, December 31. For Indian viewers, it will stream at 6:30 AM IST on Thursday, January 1, 2026. The episode is titled “Chapter 8: The Rightside Up.”

Runtime details of the finale

Creators Matt and Ross Duffer have confirmed that the final episode is the longest of the season. The finale runs for 2 hours and 8 minutes, making it nearly feature-film length. While the earlier episodes in Volume 2 run just over an hour each, the concluding chapter has been designed to give the story the space it needs for a proper send-off.

Theatrical release plans

Fans will also get a rare big-screen experience. It has been announced that the final episode will be screened in over 500 theatres across the United States and Canada. The theatrical screenings will begin on December 31, 2025, and continue on January 1, 2026.

Cast returning for the final showdown

The series brings back its core ensemble for the final time. The last season stars Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, and Priah Ferguson. They are joined by Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Jamie Campbell Bower, Cara Buono, Matthew Modine, Brett Gelman, and Linda Hamilton.One final episode remains. Hawkins’ story is about to close forever.
