Daily wager ends life at Khudda Jassu home

Chandigarh: A 55-year-old man allegedly died by suicide at his home in Khudda Jassu village Thursday. The deceased, Naresh Kumar, was a daily wage labourer.Police said they received information about a man having hung himself, following which their team reached the spot. The deceased’s brother, Lakhi Ram, said Naresh lived on the upper floor of the house. He reportedly found Naresh hanging from the ceiling when he went upstairs. The family immediately brought him down and rushed him to GMSH-16, where doctors declared him dead, Lakhi said.Family members told police that Naresh was addicted to alcohol and had been under financial stress for some time, which had affected his mental well-being.
