NEW DELHI: In the Jamuria constituency, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate, Dr Bijan Mukherjee, secured a victory over his All India Trinamool Congress contender Hareram Singh with a margin of 22514 votes, securing a total of 90150 votes. He dethroned Hareram Singh, who has served since winning the 2021 election.Jamuria is a General category assembly constituency located in West Bengal's Paschim Bardhaman district. It is one of the seven assembly segments that fall under the Asansol Lok Sabha constituency.At present, Hareram Singh of the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) is the sitting MLA from Jamuria. He won the seat in the 2021 assembly election by securing 42.6% of the total votes polled.
