Baduria election results 2026: Burhanul Mukaddim (Liton) wins for Trinamool Congress

Burhanul Mukaddim (Liton) of the All India Trinamool Congress has won the seat with 1,03,334 votes. He defeated Sukriti Kumar Sarkar of the Bharatiya Janata Party, who secured 63,273 votes, by a margin of 40,061 votes.Baduria is a predominantly rural, general category constituency in North 24 Parganas, located close to the Bangladesh border with a significant Muslim population. In 2026, TMC's Burhanul Mokkadin faces BJP's Sukriti Sarkar.In 2021, TMC's Abdur Rahim Quazi won impressively with 1,09,701 votes, defeating BJP's Sukalyan Baidya by a commanding margin of 56,444 votes. In 2016, Quazi had won the seat as a Congress candidate with 98,408 votes, defeating TMC's Amir Ali by 22,245 votes — he subsequently joined TMC.
