Ashok Singhal of the BJP emerged victorious in the election, securing a total of 111880 votes. He defeated Congress candidate Batash Orang by a decisive margin of 48169 votes.Dhekiajuli is a rural assembly constituency in Assam's Sonitpur district, part of the Tezpur Lok Sabha constituency. It spans areas around Dhekiajuli town, known for tea gardens, agriculture, and historical significance in north Assam.In the current 2026 battle, Ashok Singhal of the BJP is seeking a third consecutive term. He faces a fresh challenge from Batash Urang, the Congress candidate fielded by the Asom Sonmilito Morcha alliance.BJP's Ashok Singhal won decisively in 2021 with 93,768 votes (57per cent share) and a 35,070-vote margin over INC's Benudhar Nath (58,698 votes, 36per cent). He defended his 2016 victory with 71,425 votes (50per cent share).Literacy stands at 81.66per cent, with 217,380 eligible electors in 2021 (110,867 males, 106,511 females) across diverse rural communities.
