2 beaten to death in separate incidents

Trichy: A man and a woman were beaten to death in separate incidents near Nagapattinam. Their bodies were discovered on Thursday morning.Police received information that a 40-year-old man was found dead near the goods shed at Nagapattinam railway station. Soon after, a woman aged around 35 with bleeding injuries collapsed on the premises of Nagapattinam GH. The deceased were identified as Arun Kumar from Akkaraipettai and Chithra from Kilvelur. District superintendent of police Sujit Kumar conducted investigations at both spots. Police examined CCTV footage and pressed in forensic experts and sniffer dogs to assist in the probes.Police said Chithra was attacked with stones by unidentified people near a liquor shop at Nagapattinam bus stand. Respective police stations filed separate cases and are continuing the investigations.
