Maha firm to market ‘Kashi Abhiman’ hybrid tomato

Varanasi: A license agreement was signed on Thursday between Real Agri Creation Private Limited, a seed company based in Nagpur, Maharastra, and ICAR-Indian Institute of Vegetable Research (IIVR), Varanasi, for the research, production, and marketing of the advance tomato hybrid ‘Kashi Abhiman’ developed by the institute.The agreement is considered as a symbol of the growing popularity and credibility of the advanced varieties and hybrids developed by the institute within the Indian vegetable seed industry.Rajesh Kumar, director, ICAR-Indian Institute of Vegetable Research, signed the agreement, said that this hybrid is of determinate growth nature, bearing deep red, firm-textured fruits.He added that the technologies developed by the institute have carved a distinct identity among seed companies across the country, and a large number of companies have already obtained licenses for these varieties and hybrids and are successfully carrying out their seed production and marketing.
