Worker found dead; cops detain girlfriend, colleague

Chennai: A 24-year-old construction worker was found dead under suspicious circumstances at a building site in Maduravoyal on Sunday, following which police detained his girlfriend and another worker for inquiry.Silambarasan of Kandachipuram in Villupuram district had been staying at the construction site for the past two weeks. On Sunday, his father Kumaravel called police and said his son was found unconscious at the site. Maduravoyal police found injuries on his neck, and sent the body to Kilpauk Government Hospital for postmortem.Police questioned Silambarasan's girlfriend, Senthamizh, 18, of Kandachipuram as the two were in a relationship for a while. Police have since detained Senthamizh and Manikandan, another worker at the site, for questioning. TNN
