Salman Khan is one of those rare stars who has stayed at the top for decades. From his early hits like ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ and ‘Saajan’ to beloved films like ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!’ and ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, he has always had a special place in the hearts of fans of all ages. In a recent chat, Salman got personal and talked about the things that shaped him as a person, noting that trusting his gut has always kept him on the right track.

Salman Khan on working with people he loves

When Variety India asked Salman about the first film set where he truly felt at home, he did not have to think twice. He spoke warmly about the bond he shares with the people he has worked with over the years, making it clear that for him, comfort on set has always come down to the people around him. Salman said, "My first film. Sooraj Barjatya and I are like brothers. After that, the most amount of fun that I've had is with Sohail Khan, Arbaaz Khan, and Sanju (Sanjay Dutt). Actually, all my films. I believe that you should work with people whom you like. If there's a script, and you have to do it, but you don't like the person, either you don't do the film or you get along with that person and do the film. Taj Mahal is never built on hate."

The shirtless moment that made 'Oh Oh Jaane Jaana' a national craze

When asked about the first song of his that became a nationwide sensation, Salman smiled and gave credit to a bit of luck and one iconic moment that fans still remember to this day. Khan said, "I've been lucky with this, but that whole thing of shirtless, singing, was 'Oh Oh Jaane Jaana' (from 'Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya')."
