Moscow Backs Iran’s Right to Enrich Uranium Amid "Neo-Colonial" US Sanctions

Russia is making its move in the Middle East crisis. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has confirmed that secret backchannel negotiations are taking place between the US and Iran through Pakistani intermediaries, and reveals Moscow is actively integrating into the process. Offering to step in just as Russia did during the 2015 nuclear deal, Lavrov fiercely defended Iran's right to enrich uranium while trashing Western sanctions as "neo-colonial" theft. In a classic, unfiltered Lavrov moment, he also took a swipe at Western culture, calling Eurovision a symbol of "blatant satanism" compared to the traditional values of BRICS.
