Services of 17 pairs of special trains extended

Patna: The railways has extended the services of 17 pairs of special trains on different routes, either originating from or passing through the East Central Railway (ECR), to handle the huge festival rush. This arrangement has been made in addition to the introduction of several pairs of festival special passenger trains.ECR’s chief public relations officer (CPRO), Saraswati Chandra, told this newspaper on Monday that the services of Gaya-Delhi have been extended to an additional 54 trips from September 16 to November 30. “The Danapur-Anand Vihar will be put into operation up to December 1, making nine additional trips,” he said, adding that the Muzaffarpur-Anand Vihar will make an additional run of seven trips from October 18 to November 30.Similarly, the Dhanbad-Chandigarh will have an additional run of 22 trips from September 19 to November 30. “The Charlapalli (Secunderabad)-Buxar will have 13 additional trips up to December 1,” the CPRO said.While the Patna-Charlapalli will have 27 additional trips from October 1 to January 2, the Raxaul-Udhna (Surat) will have 13 additional trips from October 4 to December 28.Likewise, the Bhagat Ki Kothi (Jodhpur)-Danapur will have nine additional trips from October 1 to November 27 and Daurai (Ajmer)-Samastipur will get additional nine trips from October 3 to November 30.“The services of Mumbai Central-Katihar, Valsad-Danapur, Udhna-Patna, Udhna-Jaynagar, Dr Ambedkar Nagar (Mhow) in Madhya Pradesh-Patna, Udhna-Dhanbad, Patliputra-Balia and Patna-Thawe are among other special train services which have been extended to handle the rush, Chandra said.
