NEW DELHI: A 20-year-old woman was allegedly raped by two of her friends after being abducted from her home in the Haridevpur area of south Kolkata, police said on Sunday.The incident is said to have taken place on Saturday night in the Haridevpur area.According to the police complaint, one of the men, identified as Chandan Mallick, had invited the woman to a birthday party, which she declined. Later, Mallick and his friend, Debangshu Biswas, allegedly abducted her from her home and took her to Malancha, where she was raped multiple times.The woman returned home and told her family, who then took her to the police station to file a complaint.“The two accused have fled, and we are searching for them. The victim is being medically examined, and our officers are visiting the place where the crime took place,” a police officer told news agency PTI.An investigation is under way.(The victim's identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme Court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
