Delhi | AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal has strongly criticized the Modi government over its decision to exempt 11% duty on cotton imports from the US, saying it threatens the livelihoods of Indian cotton farmers. He urged Prime Minister Modi to retaliate against America’s 50% tariff on Indian exports by imposing a 75% import duty, calling for courage and decisive action. Speaking at Gujarat’s Kisan Mahapanchayat, Kejriwal also demanded a Minimum Support Price of ₹2,100 per 20 kg, government procurement of cotton, and subsidies for fertilizers and seeds. He accused the Centre of favoring US interests while Indian farmers and workers face financial distress.
