‘Ghuspatiya Bachao’: BJP Tears into Opposition, Wants HC Intervention on Attack Remark

BJP leader Sambit Patra hit out at Rahul Gandhi’s Yatra, describing it as a “ghuspatiya bachao andolan,” a movement shielding infiltrators. He cited Jharkhand minister Irfan Ansari’s statement about “digging graves” of BJP leaders who raise the issue of Bangladeshi migrants. Patra also referred to remarks by Abdur Rahim Bakshi, who allegedly threatened to throw acid on a BJP MLA for using the word “infiltrator.” Terming these threats alarming, Patra appealed to the Kolkata High Court to take suo motu cognisance of the matter. He stressed that such statements expose the dangerous politics surrounding infiltration and pose a threat to democracy.
