Kulgam Gunfight: Terrorist Neutralized, JCO Sustains Injuries, Search Operation Ongoing

Security forces engaged terrorists in a fierce encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Monday. The gunfight erupted in the Guddar forest area after a joint team of the Army, CRPF, and J&K Police launched a cordon and search operation on the basis of specific intelligence inputs. According to officials, the operation turned into an encounter when terrorists opened fire at the security forces. The Chinar Corps confirmed that vigilant troops spotted suspicious movement, and during the exchange of fire, one terrorist was eliminated. A Junior Commissioned Officer of the Army sustained injuries in the operation, which is still underway. Further updates are awaited.
