Patna: A man was arrested on Monday for allegedly killing his younger brother during a heated argument over an old land dispute at Chandar Bigha village under Chiksora police station area in Nalanda district. A physical altercation between both brothers occurred on Sunday night that resulted in the death of 65-year-old Binda Prasad, son of the late Rajendra Prasad.
“The accused, Bineshwari Yadav, is the elder brother of the deceased. The two had an old dispute over an ancestral land. They were not on speaking terms, although their sons maintained cordial relations,” said Ravindra Kumar, SHO of Chiksora police station.
He said the fatal incident took place when Binda visited Bineshwari’s house to discuss the disputed property. An argument broke out, during which Bineshwari allegedly pushed Binda, causing him to fall and suffer a fatal head injury. Despite being rushed to the hospital by family members, Binda was declared dead on arrival, he added.
Kumar said that no weapons were used in the incident. “A named FIR has been registered against Bineshwari and his three sons. Forensic experts have collected evidence from the spot, and the body was handed over to the family following a post-mortem at Biharsharif Model Hospital. Raids are being conducted to nab the accused, who is currently absconding,” the SHO added.
