Man Arrested in UP for Stealing Rs 1 Crore Gold ‘Kalash’ from Red Fort During Jain Event

Delhi Police have arrested Bhushan Verma in connection with the theft of golden ‘kalash’ (urns) and other valuables worth around Rs 1.5 crore from a Jain religious event at the Red Fort. CCTV footage showed him stealing a gold ‘jhari’ and a gold coconut weighing approximately 760 grams, along with a 115-gram gold ‘jhari’ studded with diamonds, emeralds, and rubies, all used in Jain rituals. The arrest took place in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, following a detailed investigation by North Delhi Police. Authorities are working to recover the stolen items and identify any possible accomplices involved in this high-value religious theft.
